Buying a new SUV

I would like to buy a nearly new Kia Sorrento or Hyundai Santa Fe automatic - I do about 11,000 miles a year, with some regular 150 mile runs. However I am aware of the DPF, DMF and EGR problems you have highlighted with diesels. Hopefully weekly longer runs will minimise DPF issues; should the auto and long warranty on these makes be sufficient to handle the DMF and EGR concerns?

Have yet to hear of DPF problems with these, and the auto does not have or need a DMF.
