Country of Origin - does it affect reliability?

I've heard that some Honda Jazz cars were built in China/Thailand and not Japan, does this affect build quality/reliability?

What problems should I look out for?

The last two years production of the old model Jazz for UK sales came from Guangzou, China. No consequence on reliablility. But tyres sometimes prone to cracking.
