Legal issues on non fault insurance claim

What can be done about insurers giving your details to Drive Assist on non fault incidents and you being liable for car hire costs when policy clearly states 'courtesy car and legal protection provided"?Now third party insurers refuse to pay some of costs and I am liable. Want to take proceedings out in my name but then would be liable for huge court costs as well. What can I do to avoid me being out of pocket when I am the innocent party?

You refuse to pay the costs and let Drive Assist try to take you to court. Involve your insurer, telling them that your policy clearly states 'courtesy car and legal protection provided', yet they referred you to a credit hire outfit. Tell them that if the case against you is found against you, then you will use small claims to sue them for the costs.
