Is buy from a fleet discount dealer Kosher?

The are several companies advertising up to £5000 off new cars. At the last minute, just as you are about to pay the deposit over the phone, they tell you that you will be the second owner on the V5 as they will be registering your car to a company for one day in order to achieve these massive discounts.

You do not see the V5 at the time of delivery. Is this Kosher and how do you know you are the registered keeper of the car when and if it is finally delivered? Are there any insurance problems?

Drive the deal states on its site, under pre-registered cars, that these deal may be breaking the law and the buyer can be prosecuted pursuant to Section 43C of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994. Is this scaremongering?
