Buying a 4x4 or estate - what to pick?

I am going to spend up to £6.5K on one of the following Audi 6 Avant (2005+), BMW 5 series estate (2004+) or Volvo XC90. Bearing in mind the likely age and mileage of these cars at this price and based purely on reliability, which would you go for?

BMW 5-Series. But check the entries in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar for all of them.
