Changing to a Yeti from an Alfa 147?

I have a 10 year old Alfa 147 2.0 petrol owned from new, now with 64k miles on the clock and am thinking of changing for a Skoda Yeti 4X4 to make it easier for me to get to work in the winter - I run a pharmacy on Dartmoor and must be able to offer a service no matter the weather! I have managed over the last few winters by using snowchains on the Alfa, but they wouldn't really solve the problem of ice or flooded roads.

The Alfa is in good nick with only routine wear & tear items due to be done, but that does include a scheduled cam belt change. Should I stick with my beloved Alfa (I still love driving & owning it) or spend the guts of £20k on a new/er Yeti? I do wonder about more modern cars with all their gadgetry and how reliable they will prove to be - the Alfa has been pretty well rock solid!

What other problems could I expect over the next few years with the Alfa - or should I bite the bullet and change?

That's an amazing performance from a 10 year old Alfa and with tis great looks I can understand your affection for it. The closest Yeti in performance will be a 1.8TSI 4WD. They are huge fun to drive. Much nicer than the diesels. But for winter in the conditions you describe there is still no substitute for winter tyres.
