What extras are worth getting?

Many thanks for your suggestion of a Swift, Agila or i10 for an automatic. We've bought a Swift and are picking up on Thursday. We've been offered £299 gap insurance (which we'll get independently after looking at your site) as well as a paint/glass protector at £299 & a service plan (no cost yet stated.)

In your view are either the protector or service plans of these worth the money?

No. Salesmen's commission earners. They earn so little selling cars they have to supplement their incomes selling add ons at very high commission rates.
