Buying a used workhorse

My son works in building trade. He currently runs a K reg Freelander. It has to go it is so unreliable, costs a fortune to keep on the road.

He needs a reliable workhorse to carry tools and equipment and an occasional bag of cement. He has about £3000 to spend.
