Fuel contamination on belts

A faulty O ring seal caused diesel to leak from the fuel filter of my Octavia TDI estate for a couple of days. This in turn caused the auxiliary belt to fray. Is there a possibility that the timing belt could have been contaminated? Is it something I should worry about immediately? The car is just under 3 years old & has covered 37k.

Yes. Sometimes if an aux belt comes off it gets tangled into the uncovered bit of the timing belt and takes it off.
