Lexus sat nav compatibility

You were right! The IS250C is a much better car than the SC430... so I bought one!

Now I have two Lexii and both with Sat Nav. However, the RX is a 2008 car and the IS has the latest DVD in it (a 2011 car).

Can the same DVD be used in both cars? Will the RX then allow FULL Postcode directions? Or is that upgrade only achieved by changing the sat nav hardware or firmware?

I could just try it and see, but these guys have a nasty habit of corrupting software if you try to circumvent them!

I don't think so.

But it would be a bit peculiar if the RX did not allow 7 digit postcodes because, apparently, Britain and Japan are the only countries in the world that locate addresses so precisely.

If the RX is not fitted with Japanese satnav I'd wonder why not.
