Freelander leaking coolant

I am losing coolant fluid, but have kept it topped up and not overheated. Land Rover have had the vehicle for investigation and perfomed two compression tests but can't find the source of the leak. I have mentioned the o-rings but they suspect the head gasket. The car is going back in on Friday 23rd.

My questions are:
1. Should I ask them to replace the o-rings first and can they be done without taking the cylinder head off? I this a big job?
2. Should I get the cylinder head gasket changed at the same time?

Yes, O rings first. They are between the haad and the heated inlet manifold so are not a head off job.
