Ticking over a turbo to cool it down

Recently purchased a Ford Mondeo turbo diesel and cannot recall how long to tick over after a run. Could you please advise.

Depends. After towing: 2 minutes. After a long ascent: 2 minutes. After a long stint on the motorway at around 2,000 rpm, 30 seconds to 1 minute. If the last part of your journey is suburban at low revs, then tat alone will be enough and no need to idle as well before switching off.
