BMW 5 Series brake problem

Bought a new F10 550iSE about a year ago. At 11600 miles under braking I began to get a shuddering through the steering. Was advised by the BMW garage that I needed new discs and pads. Fitted at not inconsiderable cost, but after some 700 further miles shuddering under braking is back.

Firstly, I do not think that discs should need replacing so early in a cars life, but BMW tell me the warranty is only 4000 miles. Hoever, they certainly shouldn't go at less than 1000 miles. Have you heard of any problems with this model and do you have any thoughts?

New one on me. Could be caused by sitting on the brake after a long brake, for example braking into a roundabout from 70mph, then finding a lot of traffic on it. But you will know if you have done this.
