Winding down

Have you received any reports of Skoda Octavia windows opening for no apparent reason? I left my 59 reg car in front of my garage, fully locked. When I returned to it several hours later, all the windows were open, the back ones completely down and both front approximately 75% open. The doors were still fully locked. As there had been heavy rain, without any thunder, everything inside the car was soaked with quarter of an inch of water in both front door side pockets. Can you help with an explanation?

Yes, loads. One thing that can happen is that the buttons on the fob get accidentally pressed as you walk away from the car and that opens the windows. Your driver's manual explains this. The other problem is moisture ingress to the locking ECU inside the drivers door, and that can have the same effect.
