Why is my Volkswagen Polo's engine cutting out whilst I'm driving it?

I bought a new Volkswagen Polo SEL 1.6 CR/DPF 90PS 5-speed manual in November 2010. It now has 1,500 miles on the clock. It stalled at a junction soon after I bought it, then a few months later the engine cut out three times on a journey when driving at a slow speed appropriate to the traffic conditions. On inspection at the Volkswagen garage they admitted there were faults and fitted: 1) A new engine ECU. 2) A new throttle body. 3) A new exhaust pressure sensor. 4) A new boost pressure sensor. 5) Repaired wiring to turbo and sensors.

After the works were carried out, the car stalled again turning into a station car park and I returned the car to the garage. It was tested again and no faults were found. The mechanic then drove a similar model and the same thing occurred to him when driving at a low speed. I have now been told to adjust my driving technique, as these models are so fuel-efficient. However it stalled again yesterday when driving up to a junction. I would welcome your comments, please.

At engine idling speed a Polo 1.6 diesel exceeds 30mph in fifth gear. You probably need to use more revs and lower gears because the car is trying to run on the minimum of fuel and this simply isn't enough. Also you need to promote the DPF regeneration or it will clog up, and that may take longer runs than you are giving the car.
