Can you recommend a detergent and wax to use on my Volkswagen Jetta's 'Atlanta' wheels?

I have a Volkswagen Jetta with ‘Atlanta’ alloy wheels that are part painted and part lacquered alloy. The handbook states that car polish should not be used on the wheels but that an acid-free detergent should be used to clean the wheels followed by the use of a ‘hard wax’ compound every three months. Can you recommend an acid-free detergent and a suitable hard wax compound?

Check at www.autoglym.co.uk and at www.meguiars.co.uk. A polish is actually an abrasive that shines by removing the surface of the paint. That's why they recommend a wax that sits on top of the lacquer on the alloys.
