Unnamed and shamed

Several months ago I received a speeding ticket for doing 81mph on the A23 (from a mobile camera) not far from where I live. At first I couldn't remember myself or my wife being there. Then, on reflection, we realised that the car was in a garage for repair at the time. The garage service manager could not or would not tell us who was driving the car so we could not advise the police. Now I am being prosecuted for failing to provide this information. I have been forced to engage a barrister to represent me at my trial.

Another nail in the coffin of British Justice. The lesson to be learned from this is you put down the name of the service manager of the garage at the time of the incident and it is then up to him to either defend himself or supply the name of the fitter who was driving the car at the time. Our legal advice is that it is better it goes to trial as then the legal team, who think they will win, have a better chance on the cost recovery.
