BMW 320d - Dual mass fly meals

In September 2009, I purchased a used BMW 320D M Sport Coupe (12 months old, ex-demonstrator plus one owner, 6,000 miles) from a main dealer. In the 12,000 miles since, it has had 3 replacement clutches, the first two with flywheels, because of clutch judder, particularly when moving off on an incline.

I am experiencing the same problem yet again, but am almost embarrassed to go back to the dealers as they say I hold the record for the number of replacements. I have had BMWs for over 20 years, but this one gives me the least pleasure in driving, Incidentally, I drive two other manual cars owned by myself and my wife, and have no problems, nor have I had problems with clutches in the past. Is this problem unusual?

Apparently, what eats dual mass flywheels more than anything else is engaging the clutch at engine idle speed. Lots of taxi drivers do this in traffic jams and go through DMFs very rapidly.
