Should I pay a fine levied for overstaying in a supermarket car park?

I recently received a notice of a fine by the company operating the car park for Morrisons in Northampton for £90.00. This was due to my overstaying for 35 minutes. How do I stand on this with regard to payment. What should I do?

Depends on the circumstances. If you spent the whole time your car was parked in Morrisons' car park shopping in Morrisons, then nothing to pay. Tell them to get knotted. If you used Morrisons' car park to shop elsewhere you were probably in breach of contract and they can get you for that. The answer then is to offer a "reasonable amount" in compensation. Say £10.
