Lead time on a Skoda Yeti

I ordered A Skoda Yeti (1.8 TSI 4x4 SE+) back in Sept and was told to expect delivery in 3 to 4 months (late Dec to Jan). Today (9th Jan) on visiting my dealer I was told build week has moved from week 1 to 17, which would mean a late May delivery!

Whilst I really want a Yeti, I'm not sure I'm prepared to wait that long for a family car; If it was a bespoke sports car perhaps!

I gave a £1000 deposit for the order in Sept, what is my rights in view of the extended delivery, in having a full refund for cancelling the order? Shame to cancel, but there are some good alternatives, in particular considering the Yeti as specified above was nearly 22k!

Eh? Must have been a sudden huge spike in demand from China or somewhere. I think you are entitled to a refund of your deposit. Whether a court would is another matter.
