Buying a 4x4

I'm in the market for a second hand SUV, got around £7k to spend.

Have previously owned an 03 Freelander which I liked, but had a lot of problems with. I was thinking Nissan X-Trail or RAV4, but I've heard some troubling things about the turbo on the 2.2 Dci engine, do all the X-trail engines have this problem?

Like the X-trail for it's offroad capability, as I do need that for work. I'm in a pickle, any advice gratefully received!

There were a lot of reports of problems with X-Trail 2.2 diesels a few years ago, but these died down and I have received very few complaints over the past two years. Otherwise it's an excellent vehicle.
