Should I push for a goodwill contribution to my BMW differential failure?

I have been advised by my local dealer that at 47k miles the fifferential on my 2021 BMW 320 is failing and needs to be replaced. A quick check around the internet seems to indicate this is a known weakness. Do you know whether BMW has been known to contribute towards the cost of this expensive repair?

We are not aware of any specific examples of BMW contributing towards the cost of this repair, but in instances where a fault is more common manufacturers may make an offer of goodwill in the right circumstances. A full main dealer service history is a must if you are to have a chance of a goodwill contribution, and if the vehicle is still in warranty this is also a help. Given that the dealer has advised you of the issue, you can respond that you are aware that this is known failure point and ask them to make a request for a contribution from BMW UK on your behalf. If this is unsuccessful or the dealer refuses you can contact BMW UK directly, outlining the low mileage and age of the vehicle as mitigating factors in your favour.
