Is premium diesel worth the money?

I have a 2026 Mercedes C Class Estate 2200 cdi diesel with 49000 miles and full service history I have used Shell Premium Diesel since I bought it in 2021 with 24000 miles on the clock. Am I doing the right thing or wasting my money

Premium fuels such as Shell V-Power diesel generally contain more cleaning agents that are designed to remove deposits from your engine, with the potential for benefits in terms of economy and engine longevity. Some owners say they have found clear benefits from using premium fuels, while others say they have noticed no benefits, so there are no guarantees in terms of results. For most owners it is a matter of balancing the potential benefits against the increased cost compared to standard fuels.
