What is a good small car for around the town?
What is a good small car for around the town, hatchback, two or four door, economical, can fit two bikes in the boot with wheels off. It can manage longer journeys 30-60 miles return. Second hand 3-5 years around 30-50k miles. Budget £12-18k depending on size and spec.

Depending on the size of the bike, you should be able to fit two in the rear of a Volkswagen Up with the wheels removed. They're economical, small enough to be easy to drive and park around town, but are refined enough for longer journeys. You could also look at the SEAT Mii and Skoda Citigo, which are the same car save for some light styling differences.
