Which battery on my hybrid restarts the car using start/stop?

My 2022 Suzuki Vitara 1.4 hybrid has two batteries. One under the bonnet (in the engine compartment) and one under the passenger seat. Suzuki UK has informed me that it is the passenger seat battery that restarts the car using the stop/start system. My local dealer has informed me it is the engine compartment battery that restarts the car using the stop/start system. Goodness me even the manufacturer and their dealers cannot agree and my stop/start system is not playing nice.

The Vitara mild hybrid has a conventional 12v battery in the engine compartment which starts the car when you first switch it on and a 48v battery under the passenger seat which operates the stop/start system when the vehicle conditions allow. If you have an issue with the stop start system it is most likely to be a problem with the 48v battery or the integrated starter motor generator which provides the stop start function.
