What small automatic car do you suggest?

My son in law just passed his driving test for automatic cars and bought a three year old Volvo XC40. Our daughter has been driving a 2017 Kia Sportage that was their family car. Now that the Volvo will be the family car, our daughter will need a smaller car to use for going to work. She will be looking at an automatic car. What reliable cars would you suggest as she will be looking at a part exchange and a second hand one?

In terms of reliability in a small package, a Toyota is the way to go – the brand is consistently rated near the top of our reliability charts in the HonestJohn.co.uk Satisfaction Index ownership survey. The Yaris is fairly compact, so it could be worth a look. Or from Honda there's the Jazz to consider, which also has an excellent reliability record.
