Have cam belt change intervals changed for Skoda models?

I was interested to read that VW has issued a new directive to dealers about cam belt change intervals. I own a 2016 Skoda Yeti 1.2 TSI which has only covered 33000 miles. Does the VW directive also apply to Skoda? I asked my local village garage owner whether I should have the cambelt changed and he said he wouldn't bother in view of the mileage.

The timing belt interval for some Volkswagen Group vehicles was extended to 10 years or 140,000 miles in 2023, but we would suggest contacting your local Skoda dealer for confirmation if you are concerned. Regardless of mileage, as your vehicle is approaching ten years old we would suggest that you consider having the cambelt change in the near future.
