Can I remove the petrol particulate filter on my car?

Can I remove the gasoline particulate filter on my Skoda 2.0 TSI SE L 2019 petrol as it's causing terrible MPG on short trips round town as it keeps doing regens. It's great on long trips and does 45+mpg.

Technically it would be possible to remove a petrol particulate filter, but this would present several issues. Firstly it would cause a fault within the engine management system which would cause the engine management light to illuminate, an MoT failure. Even if this were mapped out with an ECU tune, it could still cause the exhaust emissions to fall outside the required parameters. The MoT inspection manual section 8.2.2.1 (a) also states that 'Emission control equipment fitted by the manufacturer missing, obviously modified or obviously defective' is a major fault.
