How much should it cost to repair a faulty handbrake?
The handbrake on my wife's 2009 Mercedes A-Class does not hold on a hill. Several garages have "fixed" it but it still rolls. How much would a complete handbrake rebuild be?

The most likely fault here is a stretched cable – you'll be looking at 2-3 hours garage labour to replace it, plus the part. We'd expect a bill of around £200-£250 based on local labour rates, or £350 ish from a Mercedes-Benz dealer.
