Are hybrid cars reliable?
I am considering buying a Toyota Yaris. I've never owned a hybrid before and I'm concerned I will be hit with unexpected costs during ownership. It's 2 years old. I will keep for around 3 years. It's done 25k miles. Should I stick with what I know - a petrol car? I mainly do town drives.

While it's true that a hybrid engine brings with it additional complexity, we wouldn't worry about the reliability side of things, particularly when it comes to a Toyota. The company is probably more experienced than anyone at producing hybrids, having been building them for the best part of 30 years. What's more, Toyota has an excellent reliability record, frequently placing high in our HonestJohn.co.uk Satisfaction Index reliability rankings, most recently finishing third.
