Underbody rust, Focus

I have a 2005-plate (manufactured 2004) Ford Focus Estate, 1.8 petrol.

It has just passed its MOT but with a note to the effect that it is rusted underneath - I presume the part of the car closest to the road.

What would be the best way to get this treated? The Ford garage that did the MOT did not seem to offer underbody treatments of any kind. I intend to keep the car for several years and so would like to find a good quality solution. Finally, I am surprised it has rusted. My older FF Estate did not suffer from this.

You need to get it independently inspected to ascertain what the MoT inspector meant by "rusted". Might be brake pipes, might be suspension components, might be the structure (but I doubt that).
