Electrical issues

All the dials on my Peugeot 807 2.2 HDI stopped working.

An auto electrician has replaced the under bonnet fuse box, which had been damaged by water ingress, and also the BSI computer unit.

He can't encript the keys to the new BSI. He has had the car for two months and so has reinstated the old faulty BSI to allow me to recover the car.

He charged me £550 for the two parts but no labour because he hadn't effected a repair.

As an ex-Peugeot employee of 20 years experience he doubts whether a main dealer will succeed either.

What should I do? He said the car is too good to scrap and it has only done 70k miles. Prior to this the car was sent to my local independent garage who recommended it went to a Peugeot dealer. They suggested I tried an auto -elecrtician because it wouldn't talk to their computer!

The Peugeot complaints department said their car doesn't have an electrical design fault!

You might be able to disarm the immobiliser system entirely simply by uplugging a multipin connector. Will mean driving with a red light permanently on, but at least it should drive.
