Oil consumption

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.5L SOHC engine with 135,000km reading on dash

It used to consume engine oil upto 500ml per 1000km, I got the engine overhauled by a Hyundai service center.

The company has given me 10,000km and six months engine warranty, whichever is earliest.

When my car was delivered to me it was showing full reading on the dip stick.

Now my car has done 5000km after the overhaul and the oil level has slightly come down (i.e if length of dip stick reading from F TO E is 22mm than it is showing me 18mm).

By my calculation it has consumed roughly 500ml of engine oil (total volume of engine oil is 3.3 Ltr). I got it checked from the company they said it is absolutely normal because some of the oil that is left inside the oil filter and the head. I have still 5000km and 2 moths warranty period left. Is this right?

It is perfectly normal for a 10 year old engine to consume half a litre of oil in 5,000km after a recon.
