Replacing a well loved RAV-4

We have owned a 1996 Toyota Rav-4 GX 5 door since 2004. We've had no major problems with it, in fact it is the most reliable car we have ever owned (touchwood)

I's now got 110K on clock, probably good for a few miles yet, but she who must be obeyed would like a newer model.

She does want another 4x4 as likes the 'safe' feeling of sitting high up and having a lot of metal around her.

We do live in a rural area, and spend a fair amount of time driving on country roads/tracks etc. She would like another Rav-4 and I'm happy to do that but would consider other options/recommendations.

I like the look of the mark two Rav4, I think it was approx 2000-2006.

We would want to spend about £5000/6000.

Hopefully that model has better fuel economy than our current petrol model.
