Is it legal to use an 'emergency vehicles only' slip road?

When on Google Maps to a destination it took me off at a slip road that said emergency vehicles only. Is this legal?

Lanes that are marked as 'emergency vehicles only' should not be used by the general public. However, we would hope that as this was a honest mistake any passing police officer would give you a warning rather than a penalty. If the information provided by Google Maps is incorrect, you can report the error in the app and hopefully help other drivers from making the same mistake.
