How do I regain my driving licence after seizure?

After a seizure 18 months ago, I have been trying unsuccessfully to regain my driving licence from the DVLA, can you help?

The first step, if you have not already done this, is writing to the DVLA asking them to reconsider, and providing evidence that was not included in the original assessment. You should include proof that you meet the required standards for driving such as a letter from your GP, as well as the reference number from the decision letter the DVLA sent you.

You could also appeal through the local magistrate’s court in England, provided it’s not more than six months ago that you received your decision letter. If you’re in Scotland the time limit is 21 days and you appeal through your local sheriff’s court.

It’s a good idea to get legal advice before deciding whether or not to appeal.
