What are Citroen's different auto gearboxes (EAT6, EGS6, ETG5) and which is the best and most reliable?

Citroen's ETG and EGS gearboxes are essentially the same with different names - they are semi-automatic gearboxes (in basic terms, a manual gearbox with a hydraulic motor clutch operation and electronic brain), whereas the EAT gearboxes are fully automatic torque converters. Generally, the torque converter is much smoother and less jerky when changing, but they are slightly less efficient in terms of fuel economy.
