Need I worry about not taking up gap insurance?
My wife's car is insured through Kwikfit 'insurance'. She received a telephone call this week from someone who said he was calling on behalf of Kwikfit and offering GAP insurance. My wife declined and he said OK but if Kwikfit pay less than the car is worth she will have no case to argue since they had given her the chance to take out gap insurance. Is this correct?

Sort of. But GAP insurance is usually about 1/3 of the price bought via independent insurance brokers.
