When should I change the cam belt and water pump on my Volkswagen Golf?

I have got a 2015 Mk7 diesel Volkswagen Golf, 36,000 miles. Do I need to change the timing belt and pump, as I only do low mileage?

Most cam belt and water pump problems we hear about occur after 60,000 miles or five years. I'd argue your car's belt change is two years overdue.

If your dealer is quoting a high price for the work, find an independent Volkswagen specialist as they will charge much less. Our Good Garage Guide should help with this: good-garage-guide.honestjohn.co.uk/
