BMW 5 Series DPF issues - what should I do?

I have a 63 plate BMW 520D (F10)  Auto Efficient Dynamic version (Euro 6)

As I drive a lot on motorway, the car has a high mileage, close to 180,000 miles. I had a "driven chain, check soon" message pop up before the new year. I brought the car to a BMW specialist, who checked the pressure and told me the DPF is melted and reached its lifetime. They said I will need a replacement. They quote me £2,170 (VAT included). I think it is too expensive so I am thinking of getting a DPF unit for my car and get it done by a trustworthy garage.

Right now, I only find one for £885 but it is Euro 5 and I can't find any Euro 6 DPF. Does anyone know any reliable supplier I could source the DPF unit?

The car drives smoothly and the fuel consumption (60 MPG on motorway) is as amazing as it used to be. The MoT is due in September so I need to sort out the DPF before that. I really don't want to scrap my car due to the DPF issue. What would you reckon if you were in my situation?

Sadly, we are unable to recommend any specific DPF suppliers. I would urge caution when it comes to sourcing cheap suppliers online, however, as we have received a lot of negative feedback on the quality of these DPF units.

Euro6 emission standards are much stricter than that of Euro5, which is why the former is so pricey. I would suggest speaking to another independent BMW specialist to see if they are able to source a cheaper DPF.
