Anchors awry

I am a retired Dr with a VW Golf Plus just out of guarantee and with only 26,000 miles on the clock. The ABS system has failed requiring a replacement costing £1,500 to make the car safe, insurable and able to pass an MOT. Reviewing the Internet, this is a common fault affecting many VW cars across the model range of relatively new VW vehicles. I understand that VW is refusing a safety recall and is refunding the cost of this essential repair to a large number of disenchanted and worried VW owners. Can you help in this vital safety matter?

Common fault on Mk V Golfs, listed in car-by-car breakdown at www.honestjohn.co.uk. You have to report it to www.vosa.gov.uk in the hope that VOSA gets so many similar complaints it will be forced to order a vehicle safety recall. VOSA never does this lightly.
