Can I leave my car on a slope without applying the handbrake?
Is it safe to leave my Honda HR-V (manual) in park on my sloping drive without applying the handbrake?

Holding the weight of the car on the gearbox will put an awful lot of stress on the drivetrain. Better to put the handbrake on, otherwise you'll end up with a catalogue of expensive repairs.
