In which we servo

I have a 2001 Audi A4. The brakes simply froze solid last Christmas. The garage tells me that it needs a new servo; but Audi stopped manufacture in September. The new revamped model has just become available. Why did they need to stop production and re-think unless the servo was faulty? My garage hopes to replace the servo next week.

It’s a 9-year-old obsolete car, so parts are not made for production. They have to be made in batches. The servo sits in the ventilation well and if the drains to the well get blocked it fills up with rainwater that then gets into the servo.
