Six life?

Do you have any feedback on the durability of Volkswagen's six speed DSG gearboxes as fitted to the current Passat? Do you have any advice to help reliability other than the standard 40,000mile/4 yearly transmission oil and filter change?

Issues are starting to emerge. Also complaints about the way the ‘Mechatronic’ software protects the transmission when exiting a side road or entering a roundabout. You can find yourself bogged down for a heartstopping second or two.
