Hyundai i10 (2014 - 2019)
1.0 66ps SE 5dr
Comfortable, seats 4 adults VERY comfortably and amazing MPG
I needed an efficient and comfortable 5 door small hatch after my 62 plate Ford Fiesta bit the dust unexpectedly with the cursed Ford "wet belt issue".
Only had a small budget so the i10 matched this and as my daughter owns one, and loves hers, the test drives were between this and the VW UP.
The VW was quickly discarded as the interior is noisy, half metal inside and requires cambelt/water pump changes.
the i10 uses a chain cam so 1 plus point for starters.
Was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable ride, handles and corners very well too - it's not fast and struggles a bit on a hill climb or if you need to overtake on the motorway in 5th, BUT it's nippy around town and quiet and comfortable cruising on the motorway.
I use this for motorway commuting during the week and short runs at the weekend.
The MPG is truly amazing - I get 55 - 60 all the time (even with the air-con on!) and the rear of the cabin feels roomier than my wife's Ford Kuga !!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and when the time comes we'll be looking at the Tucson for my wife
