jaguar x-type 2.2td - starting - stevo123

having a problem intermittently with starting . it will start, however will not keep running . after a few seconds just cuts out. i have changed filters but to no avail. any ideas. ??? it will go however after leaving it for a while and going back 20 mins later. i,m totally baffled.

I would suggest you get someone to fault code read & see if a fault code related to low fuel pressure in rail is logged . next if so is check fuel filter and have injectors tested for leak back as faulty injectors will cause loss of fuel pressure & cause starting issues and running issues & it will be intermitant. They also have a pressure sensor on the pump/rail that can suffer poor connections.

thanks for the advice, much apprecciated. i have had it on the diagnostic but recorded no prolems. (typical) i have also changed fuel filters but have not checked injectors or pressure sensor, so will try that. many thanks
