Ford Mondeo - key fob for a 2001 (Y) Mondeo - duncthepunk

I have recently bought a 2001 mondeo, troible is only one key. I need a spare key with remote that set and unsets the alarm and immobliser. do I have to go to Ford for that or is there a cheap and effective alternative? I cant program spares for the immobliser without two keys so it has to be "proper" Thanks.

You don,t need to use a Ford dealer,but I would suggest a member of this group could help.autolocksmiths.net. Your local key cutter will probably offer you a "clone key" but these are totally unreliable.hth
