Would you recommend the Dacia Duster to replace our Mondeo?

My beloved Mondeo has to go, finally, and, as my wife and I both have creaky backs, I am attracted to something more upright but don't want a big Chelsea tractor. With a total budget of £10,000 a second hand Nissan Qashqai or Honda CR-V appeals, but I am amazed to find that we could go for a brand new Dacia Duster for far less although this sounds too good to be true. We are both in our 60s and do about 5000 miles a year. Help!

Yes, £8995 buys you a brand new Dacia Duster 1.6 Access in white with no radio, no spare wheel, no aircon and wind-up windows. But you can't have everything for £8995 and a £50 Halfords radio will fit. Good idea to buy a spare wheel as well.

I have the same problem as JM. I am tall with long legs and dodgy knees, but I don't have his budget restriction of £10,000. Would that alter your recommendation of a Mondeo or Skoda Superb?
Could you please tell me which SUV has the best legroom and roof height for OAP's with knee problems? Looking at a Honda CR-V, its swept-back roof line makes that one unlikely; so perhaps a Skoda or Subaru?

Exceptional value for money – an SUV for the price of a small hatch, low running costs, hugely practical, large boot and spacious cabin.
1.6 i-DTEC is punchy and efficient, massive boot and a spacious cabin for five adults, superb build quality edges the CR-V into premium territory.
