Volkswagon Passat 1.9 tdi 54. - Fault finding - pegsie

Can anyone advise where the data link connection is located. I bought the car privately and 3weeks later the display came on which read " emissions workshop.

Under dash,drivers side,in plastic panel above accelerator pedal.Usually purple/pink plastic connector.hth
