Unless you actually ran it out of fuel that's not a very accurate test, you need to fill the tank to the brim (if you can afford it) then when you have done a measured mileage top it up again then you can see exactly how much you have used. Bear in mind £10.00 worth of fuel is not much more than a gallon now!
